Meta-analysis of consumers' willingness to pay for sustainable food products

There is a continuous increase in the number of studies dealing with consumers' willingness to pay (WTP) price premiums for sustainable food products. This research focused on broad area products, including different attributes using meta-analysis 80 worldwide studies. The publication bias was verified funnel plot and Egger's test. In addition, subgroup analysis meta-regression were applied classify source heterogeneity. results suggest that overall WTP premium sustainability (in percentage terms) 29.5% average. Furthermore, gender, region, categories influence average estimates their Results also indicate estimate conducted by hypothetical approach (choice experiment contingent valuation method) higher than non-hypothetical one due bias. from CVM CE. Additionally, value organic attribute other attributes. indicates fruit &vegetable category has highest while seafood receives lowest one. highlight Asian estimates, terms, are those obtained North America similar Europe. positive shown independent categories, region or methods, denoting presence great market potential products worldwide. findings this can be used as guide producers, marketers policymakers when making decisions related
